Where is your program located?

Pathways is located in beautiful Sarasota, Florida along the Gulf coast. Pathways provides a calm healing environment to begin the journey to a new life.

What types of problems/disorders do you treat?

Pathways provides comprehensive treatment for drug addiction and alcoholism to adults.

How much will treatment cost?

Addiction rehabilitation is a highly personal experience and the costs associated with treatment depend upon a number of issues including the specific nature of your problem being treated, the amount of time you will need to remain in treatment and the presence of any co-occurring disorders. Our admission advisors will be happy to work with you to develop an accurate picture of what your drug rehabilitation treatment will cost.

Do you provide detox services?

Yes, we do. An important function of our medical team is to provide a safe and comfortable detoxification from drugs and alcohol.

How long will I need to be in treatment?

For many, 28 days is a sufficient time to establish a foundation in recovery, as long as the client continues to engage in a combination of aftercare programs, 12-Step meetings or residing in a halfway house or sober living environment for the first few weeks and months following treatment.

Because each case is different, we also offer an Extended Care treatment program.

Recommendations will be made about length of stay only after the initial assessment.

What to expect in treatment?

Upon beginning treatment, you will be assigned a highly skilled primary counselor who will assist you in developing a treatment plan that addresses all of your recovery focused needs. Your unique treatment plan will begin with a thorough assessment process that covers addiction, mental health, developmental challenges, personality related factors and if necessary trauma resolution.

Will I be required (or permitted) to take medication during treatment?

If you have existing prescriptions or take over-the-counter medications, you may bring these to treatment provided they are in original packaging.  Only unopened over-the-counter medications are permitted.  The Pathways medical staff may prescribe additional medication if warranted.  All medications are surrendered to staff and stored in a secure location at admission.

What types of therapies and programs does Pathways use?

Pathways uses evidence-based practices consistent with 12-Step principles. Each individual will participate in the many phases of the program.

Clients will participate in both individual and group sessions. Groups are designed to inform and teach the addiction recovery process, while discussion helps identify individual issues and concerns. Process groups allow individuals to discuss and work through factors that may have precipitated their addiction.

For more detailed information on the types of therapies, please visit our Treatment Methods page.

Will I be allowed to smoke cigarettes during treatment?

Smoking is permitted in designated areas. You will need to bring your own cigarettes (enough for the entire length of your stay) and lighters, as these items are not available at our facility. We offer a smoking cessation program for clients who wish to quit smoking.
