Sarasota is a mid-sized community nestled an hour south of Tampa on Florida’s Gulf Coast. Pristine beaches and sunny days dominate the landscape. However, Sarasota is also known for a thriving arts community and outstanding medical professionals.
Siesta Key Beach was named the “Best Beach” in the world in 2011 and the third best beach in the United States in 2014 according to Trip Advisor.
Sarasota enjoys a rich history in the arts thanks in part to John & Mable Ringling, of the Barnum, Bailey and Ringling Brothers Circus. During their lifetime, John & Mable collected enough art to create a museum – The Ringling – which sits on the property of their former mansion, the Ca d’Zan. In addition, Sarasota also has Opera, Ballet, the Asolo Theater, the Van Wezel Performing Arts Center, as well as other locally run paid and volunteer performance groups.
